Paint protection film

PPF installation in Nivelles

PPF (paint protection film) is a clear, self-healing polyurethane film applied to the bodywork to take stone chips, scratches and everyday wear in place of your paint. Invisible once installed, it removes without a trace. Careful installation at our Nivelles workshop, in the heart of Walloon Brabant — 30 minutes from Brussels and an easy round trip from anywhere in Belgium.

Understanding

What is PPF film, concretely?

An invisible shield between the road and your paint.

PPF is a thermoplastic polyurethane film a few hundred microns thick, perfectly transparent. Applied to body panels, it absorbs the impacts and rubbing that would otherwise permanently mark the original clear coat.

Its most striking property: self-healing. The film's top layer is elastic — with the heat of the sun or warm water, surface micro-scratches fade away on their own and the film regains its smooth, glossy finish.

We install Terminax PPF films exclusively, backed by a 12-year manufacturer's warranty and applied following a rigorous protocol.

  • Stone chips

The film absorbs projections on motorways and gravelly roads, the leading cause of paint chips on the front end.

  • Micro-scratches

Wash marring, branches, light scuffs: the film takes the hit instead of the original clear coat.

  • Insects and bird droppings

Acidic organic residues attack clear coat within days. On the film, they clean off without leaving a mark.

  • UV and fading

The polyurethane filters UV rays and limits paint fading on the covered areas.

Packages

Two protection packages

Full front or full-body coverage: every package is installed in Terminax film with a 12-year warranty, tailored to your vehicle and your use — and everything else can be filmed à la carte.

Full front

Complete front end: bumper, full bonnet, front wings, mirror caps and headlights.

The best protection-to-budget balance, with no visible join line on the bonnet.

From €1,549 VAT incl.

Full body

The entire bodywork, filmed panel by panel, with edges wrapped wherever possible.

Maximum protection, for new or exceptional vehicles, or those destined for resale.

From €4,249 VAT incl.

Every PPF installation is quoted individually: the amounts above are indicative, for a city-car-sized vehicle. The final price depends on the size and the complexity of the bodywork — clean-lined bodywork is quicker to wrap than sculpted bodywork, and the simulator takes this into account — as well as the areas chosen. We confirm it together after inspecting the vehicle.

À la carte

Every panel can be filmed

The packages are not compulsory: film can also be applied piece by piece, according to your priorities — right down to the most exposed areas of the front end.

Beyond the two packages, the workshop protects any part individually — including targeted front-end protection: bumper, leading edge of the bonnet, mirror caps or headlights. A highly exposed bonnet, piano black trim that marks at the first wipe: each part gets its own film, cut to size and installed with the same care as a full coverage.

These à la carte installations are quoted individually: the amount depends on the part, its curves and the vehicle's size — we confirm it together, quickly and with no obligation. Some common items (infotainment screen, door sills…) already have an indicative price in our simulator.

  • Mirror caps
  • Bonnet
  • Bumper strip
  • Infotainment screen
  • Piano black trim
  • Door sills
  • Headlights

A non-exhaustive list: every request is assessed on quotation, after inspecting the part concerned.

Method

How a PPF installation unfolds

A durable installation starts with impeccable preparation.

  1. Preparation and decontamination

Meticulous washing, chemical and mechanical decontamination of the bodywork, then degreasing. The film only goes onto a perfectly clean surface — that is what determines how long it lasts.

  2. Cutting and installing the film

Precise cutting adapted to each panel of your vehicle, squeegee installation with slip solution, chasing out bubbles and careful work on edges and curves.

  3. Curing and final check

The film dries and bonds definitively within a few days. A complete panel-by-panel check before hand-over, with care advice for the first weeks.

PPF or ceramic?

Two complementary protections

The question comes up with every quote — the answer is rarely one or the other.

PPF: a physical barrier

The film absorbs stone chips, rubbing and scratches. It is the only protection that truly stops a chip from reaching the paint. Its home ground: exposed areas, motorways, vehicles you want to keep flawless.

Ceramic coating: a chemical protection

A ceramic coating bonds a “second clear coat” to the paint: hydrophobic behaviour, deep gloss, easier upkeep. It protects against contamination and micro-aggressions, but not impacts. It can also be applied on top of PPF.

The classic combination: a PPF full front to absorb impacts, and a ceramic coating over the whole vehicle for gloss and easy upkeep. Discover ceramic coating.

FAQ

Your PPF questions

Price, lifespan, care: answers to the questions we hear most often.

It all depends on the areas covered, the vehicle's size and the complexity of its bodywork: a clean-lined silhouette takes less installation work than bodywork sculpted with wings and air intakes. As a guide at Miss Detailing in Nivelles: a full front from €1,549 VAT incl. and full-body coverage from €4,249 VAT incl. À la carte items — bonnet, mirror caps, headlights, targeted front-end areas — are priced on quotation. Every project gets a personalised quote after inspecting the vehicle.
